Would Eibach pro springs be approved by BMW under motor plan? I seem to think not...

I am buying a 2nd hand 135i. Hasn't been in for the first service yet....the dude fitted eibach springs. I'm concerned BMW will pick this up when I do the motor plan transfer and quality check. He still has the stock springs. Should I be concerned?

I would not want to take a chance and have my motor plan cancelled after the fact...

Any advice would be much appreciated guys....

If they pick it up they will most likely hand you a MP cancellation letter, from their standpoint you can also see why as the MP is intended for OEM parts I have stopped trying to reason things out etc.. If MP is a selling point the car should be stock or OEM upgraded

I agree with you 100%! I'm going to make sure the original springs are put in and the car sent to BMW for the check before purchasing. Will they pick up that anything has been changed if I do this?

you can get them the cancel the suspension part of MP then the rest is safe...

I can also get you AC Schnitzer springs
ACS cover any parts not covered under MP because of the upgrade...

so ether pay more for lowering or cancel the suspension under MP

Thanks moranor!

My concern at this stage is just keeping the motorplan intact so that I can purchase the car with peace of mind. Don't really want to stress about losing my motorplan...especially given the fact that the car is only 1 year old.

After I purchase I am sure I will get itchy feet and would want to do a few upgrades. Thanks for the offer will come chat to u!

ACS is approved BMW goodies, apart from that and BMW performance, nothing else goes. They also do not warrantee claims if they can prove in the slightest that the damage to affected parts could be traced back to the after market suspension...

Been down this road with BMW SA ... BMW performance suspension 24K...they don't just swap out springs, they replace bushes, anti roll bars, shocks ect as well...if you just swop out springs, MP cancelled for sure...

Put the original springs back on. BMW will pick up the non oem springs.

The suspension on the M Sports are stiff and you will need your MP if anything goes wrong suspension wise.

Keep the springs and put them on if you keeping the car after the MP is up.
