So the car I'm currently driving is auto. But it has the feature to upshift and downshift with the pulling and pushing of the gearstick. My question, is it bad for the engine to do a early shifts when free wheeling downhill?
I dont think its bad. I know when the car is in gear and its rolling, it doesnt use any fuel as the momentum keeps the engine ticking over, however if you roll in neutral, the engine uses fuel to keep the engine idling.
