E90 woes!!!

Hi all...
Just bought anE90 320i auto as a fixer upper...starter was completely burnt out...replaced the starter...car just cranks, but will not start up...there is no spark AND no injector pulse!!! There is fuel pressure at the rail tho.
WHERE SHOULD I START!!!! (pardon the pun)
Ps: i did plug the crank sensor back in!!

How bout introduce yourself first.

I`m no expert but maybe check your battery levels?
If there is no spark at the plugs there might be problems with the cables or coil?

The fact that the starter motor is burnt out will tell you that you not the first person trying to get this car started...

with diagnostics you can test individual parts and components to find out whats not working ...

where are you located ?

thanks guys.........upon further investigation, found that it will start with quikstart aerosol, but just for a second with the obvious terrible pre ignition ping. On cranking the engine, the rev counter moves slightly, which probably means it is getting rpm signal, cutting out the crank sensor, right???.
it was diagnosed with a "launch" tool, found only one code...vehicle immobilised....reset the cas...re-checked valvetronic,cam and pickup settings... still no luck...only fires up briefly with quikstart
once again thanks to all your concern...every bit of advice helps...

Have you had the key checked???/

I just had the same issue.

If it is saying the CAS is the problem then have it reset and like the other members have said, get the key checked.

The CAS is the Car Access System and in a nutshell it is the module which the key transponder communicates with to mobilize/immobilize the car's systems.

hi all!...think its a good idea to remove the front seats outta my E90 to do a full interior valet. Carpets are really stained and i would love to have it cleaned properly. Should i disconnect the battery to avoid warning lights coming on? Any ADVICE!!! :bangdesk:
