It varies of course, but most seem to say anything around every 100k km, and same goes for the thermostat.

My waterpump packed up about 3 weeks ago, also electric, 2005 E90 330i and bmw quoted me R7300 something for it. I phoned goldwagen and they gave it to me for R4500. Maybe try goldwagen and see what they charge you.
Hope this helps
Just curious, since yours is also a 2005 model, have you checked your car's coolant temperatures through the hidden menu (menu 19 unlocked, then menu 7...)? Quite interested to know what sort of temperatures you see and how it changes based on driving conditions etc.
When my steering angle sensor started or the triangle and brake light I bought bmw diagnostic cable and software to resolve that, so to answer your question no I don't use the hidden menu but do use INPA, DIS and ISTA to check the car.
But the temperature fluctuates between 85 and 110°C
Thanks. I am baffled with mine. The temperatures seem to go between 74 and 98 degrees, but typically stays around 80-84. I just recently replaced the thermostat and even had the ECU checked and software updated. Temperature sensors were replaced ages ago when it was suspected that it was causing these over-cooled temps. It is also interesting to note that the OEM and replacement thermostats are rated at 97 degrees, but I gather that the ECU then regulates the coolant temperature based on what the engine load is and there how it is being driven. Most places including the BMW dealers insist that my temperatures are wrong, but the ECU specialist that BMW in fact uses for their tricky repairs says that there is nothing wrong. So very odd.
If you don't mind, it would be interesting to see if the temperatures that you saw on via INPA is the same as the hidden menu. It should be, but would be nice to confirm this. To access this, press and hold the odometer reset button for roughly 10 seconds to bring up the hidden menu, then repeatedly press the same button until you get to menu 19, add up the last five numbers of your VIN number and enter that in, then once the unlock message is displayed cycle back to menu 7. This is show the coolant temperature which in theory is the same as what INPA would have shown, but curious to know if that is the case. I would appreciate this if you can check this out whenever you have time.
