If you have a extremely long and dark driveways then this is for you. Once you have switched of the car and removed the key. Flash your brights to activate the follow me home light. Then lock the car and they should stay on a few sec to get you through the dark...

I believe the E60's have an option to start cooling the car at a preset time. If for example i know i am leaving the office at 4pm, I am able to set the time for the fan/circulation to start. I do not believe that it starts up the aircon, just the fan and is able to circulate fresh air.wade.schroeder said:Hi All
Another little useful trick.
If its a hot day and your car has been baking in the sun allow it to cool down a little before you set off. But that too much hard work I hear you say, opening the door, inserting key into ignition and then open all the windows one by one. Alas I have a trick that can help:
1) Unlock your car by using the keyfob but instead of releasing the open button once the car is unlocked, hold it for between 3-5 seconds. (Front and back windows as well as sun roof open automatically. Let it rest a while and VUALA you a have a cooler car).
The reverse is also possible and I find it useful when I have passengers that aren't in the habit of closing their windows before they exit the car or want to close the window once the keyfob is out of the ignition.
2) Lock your car using your keyfob and hold button for between 3-5 seconds. All windows and sunroof will close.
Hope this helps some of your that might not have known this.

I tried it once, but in reality you cant really plan the times you going to be back in the car.

Andy1GP said:Not really a tip or trick, just an observation.
When using cruise control ( CC ) the car automatically disengages the CC when steering angle exceeds around a quarter 1/4 turn. It remains armed/standby and automatically re-engages when the steering angle reduces below 1/4 and back to straight.
I tried this on the R21 northbound joining onto the N1 southbound interchange. Noticed it before but wanted to make sure since seeing this thread.

Starting this thread for all the E90 owners out there who like to use their cars functions to the fullest. If we all share our knowledge we will all learn something new.
I'll start off with the start without key trick:
1) From having your car idling
2) Push "start/stop" button
3) Eject keyfob (don't open any doors yet)
4) Once you have taken out your keyfob from the slot, immediately push the "start/stop" button and voila your car will start without the keyfob.
Nice little trick if for some reason you need to leave your car idling while using your bunch of keys for something else.

Glad to see you guys are posting and more importantly learning.
Another little trick that I have read about is locking your Comfort Access keyfob in the boot. I unfortunately don't have a CA keyfob, so even after a very controlled experiment I can't confirmnor deny that it works.
The theory is that you put your CA keyfob in the boot and then close the boot lid, your lid should immediately open itself. I think that is an awesome feature, escpecially for those busy moms that sometimes forget keys in the boot whilst taking out groceries (my wife being one of them).
It would be nice if someone could give this a shot to confirm that this works.
PS. Please make sure that you can open the boot if it doesn't work ie. test that you can open the boot without the key you going to lock in the boot before locking it in.

I agree with this, I don't understand how something could break.
