e90 suspension

Hi all.

This past weekend in durbs I replaced the front disks and pads on my 2005 e90 330d.

Costed me R1800 for all the components. All ATE from Township Motor spares.

Whilst changing the disks I noticed that the stabiliser bar link rod had snapped. Luckily my brother had a good spare from from his e46 sportpack which surprisingly was the exact same size as the e90 exclusive ones. Whilst checking the car I also noticed that there was a little more play on some of the suspension parts than I liked. Also seems like the rack ends and tie rod ends (apparently not the same thing) require some preventive replacement.

Tunetech quoted me almost 5k for the stabiliser bar links and another 5k for rack ends and tie rods. This is way too expensive.

I need your guys help. Where can I get this done at an affordable rate. Prefer midrand.

Thanks

Veru

ATE is an excellent brand.

They're one of the few brands that BMW installs themselves.

We would love to help a Fanatic out with the replacement of the rack ends and Tie-rod ends.

We replaced Flash-Gordon's rack and tie-rod ends a few weeks ago, they actually come as a complete unit

we couldn't find them locally at all the spares shops in Kempton, so Flash-Gordon got them thru Goldwagen PTA, and we did the labour and allignement

and we charged WAY LESS THAN the R1.5K quoted above

come and see us, possibly with your own spares, or risk us running around 6 different spares outlets in Kempton to source them

Is ATE a good brand for BMW...

Looking to do my brakes pads on my E46.......

I'm starting to have my doubts, I installed ATE earlier this year. the ATE pad is too hard and under heavier braking conditions and after these conditions Iv been disappointed with their performance and they tend to get grindy. gave Tunetech a ring and spoke to a BMW mech that a friend uses, both told me that ATE isn't what it used to be, esp on the newer cars and diesels and Textar making BMW pads atm. Tunetech reckon they use original OEM disks now. Don't know how true all this is but after these ATE's Im definitely not using them again
