E90 spare wheel issue - HELP NEEDED

Hi. I'm new to this forum and to BMW.

I'm about to be the owner of a 320i E90. This is my first BMW, so please forgive my n00bness in the questions below.

Q1. The car that I am purchasing comes with 19" rims so i don't have the convenience of runflats and I have to purchase a spare. I read that BMW sells a kit. Is this kit the best solution or are the other solutions to the E90 spare wheel issue?

Q2. Can I purchase any 17" wheel and use my own wheel brace and jack. What kind of wheel brace is it (pic pls)?

Q3. Do I have to consider the spare wheel rim size and tyre profile? Must it be 19" or can I go with 16" or 17"?

I'm a n00b I know, but every Jedi master started out as a Padawan.

Space saver is a must for an E90 as far as I am concerned! :thumbs:

pm send buddy

oh just to show it does not take much space. Still manage to fit all my luggage for holiday trips in the boot.

I see someone else uses the staysoft in the boot/car trick... :rollsmile:

Just got of the phone with BMW as I need a kit like this too, unfortunately, the kit is R4300.00 with tyre..:flyfun:
I just ordered the tool kit only for R1200.00 and will keep my full wheel in the boot until I find a space saver wheel...:idea:

I secured my space saver with Sabretooth's work buddy. I'm also purchasing the Mobility kit from BMW just as a backup.

@Sabretooth
Thanks again. Awesome deal.

Great stuff! :thumbs:

My reasoning for having the space-saver is that if I do get a puncture I can use the space-saver and prevent any further damage to the punctured RFT which I can then have repaired instead of having to replace with a costly new tyre that will not match the other tyre on the same axle. For cars with normal tyres this is a must!!

In both cases (and for all cars) an electric mini air-compressor and a can of goo in the boot is essential, especially when doing long distances...
