E90 Seat belt warning for passenger

Hi guys.

I know this has been covered alot. But I really need some help as I cant find a solution.

Purchased a 2008 E90 320i just over a month back. Seat belt sensors worked fine. A few days back I noticed the warning light and sound does not come on when someone is seated. Drove around a little without the passenger using his seat belt and noticed the warning would switch on and off.

I've checked the plugs under the seat and they all seem to be secure. Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

Not sure about e90, but e46 had an occupancy sensor which was a mat in the seat and was prone to failure. Perhaps this is something similar?

Mine also stopped working. I just left it. Just saves the hassle of the noise. All passengers wear seat belts anyway :smilebounce:

Trying to make a sure a sneaky 8 year old always uses her seat belt. She has a habit of taking it off while driving and hoping i don't notice.

My 2012 E90 320D does not make any sound when there's a passenger without his or her seat belt. Was this an extra or is it standard. Mine only makes a sound for the drivers seat belt.

I got my 2010 e90 for almost 2 months now, mine also does not beep when a passenger does not put on the seat belt, it only beeps when the driver seat belt is not being used. At first i assumed only the driver seat had warning sensors

Mine does the same.

Seems the module in the bottom of the seat is at fault.


Not long ago a lady at the car wash place slammed the passenger seat back on its railings so hard the whole car shook.

Needless to say I am not welcome back there anymore..........an empty water bottle may have been thrown........I may have shouted.

It was necessary. I wont apologize.


The SRS fault has kicked up again which needs to be cleared. Again.

Have to make arrangements to meet up with my mate and make use of his BT dongle.

In the e90 LCI, from 2010-2012...there are no beeps for the passenger seat ...but im sure the sensor is still there to activate the airbag:thumbs:
