I might be wrong, but I am sure that there is a fuse on the back of the unit too. Maybe remove it from the dash and check that fuse too...

Hey Hugo... i've already done that and the fuse is fine (tested continuity with a multimeter). I'd like to find out from Rayzor what the problem with his head unit was, maybe its something i can fix myself. Ive already paid BMW dealer 2k for diagnosis and im not willing to spend anything more than that again, I'd rather sell this car and get a new 1:nonono:

Sheesh, why did you pay the stealer R2k for diagnosis There are people on the forum doing it as a hobby and something they enjoy for a lot less.

Ouch, just like my one friend who sold his 325i E30 before I knew him because he got the fright of his life - R2500 per front wheel bearing from BMW, while at that time he could have picked up exactly the same bearings from Bearing Man, Autozone or Midas at around R250-R300 a piece. If he only knew he would probably still be driving the car today, because he is an "old skool" car fan like me.

Apparently they replaced one of the circuit boards (the one with CAN module. i.e. TJA1054). The board has multi layers and one of the inner tracks was damaged.
