4 Door E90 M3 Sedan.
I traded the Jetta, wanted a change, something along the lines of dont modify what you can buy... and i was already dropping mehd cash into the jetta . A "good" deal came my way and thought "meh, midlife crisis is due anyway"... this is a lucky packet of a car and the more i dig into it the more shit i find, so from a project its turning to a restoration.
Its a 2008 high mileage (180K) M3 E90 Sedan 6MT, only 379 of these specific models were produced for "world" other than the US of A.
I will say one thing... this is by far the most fun car i have ever owned and really puts a massive smile on your face. Its heavy AF on fuel (13L/100km) but its worth it.
Things done:
- Throttle actuators replaced
- New oil + Filter
- Plugs
- Rod bearings replaced
- Catless exhaust mod
- Engine Mountings replaced
- Gearbox mountings replaced
Things to do:
- Timing chains and guides
- diff and gearbox fluid replace
- New brake fluid
- Prop universal joint replacement
- new bonnet shocks
"Mods" to do:
- rear spacers 12mm
- Gloss black roof
Pics of the carnage:
Rod bearings... lucky the crank was still fine
Happy i replaced them.
Had the car clayed, decon, polished and waxed.
Came out ok, it needs a full 2 stge polish.
Also got a lip fitted.
Went on the BMW Tunnel Run.
Was supporting Brad and Brandon from Profit on race day at Killarney.
Also went about and put on a new exhaust:
I'm running catless with only the one box at the end of each pipe.
WIll upload a video and some pics sometime, but it's loud loud... also feels a bit faster at the top but hard to really say.
