Was wondering if someone could advise on a quick fix or reset for my sunroof before I go through the hassel of booking my car in at Bmw

Yesterday I had the sunroof opened and upon closing it it did close completely but then dropped in the opening position again

Basically it went back to the position it was in before completely closing similar to when it slides all the way foward to the last point were it moves back up into place (level of the roofline)

Any advise would be appreciated Thanks:rollsmile:

had a similar issue , mine was below the roof line and had a terrible wind noise coming through.
bmw reset it at the last service but heres what i found on another forum :

ALL you need to do is initialize your sunroof.

What you do is you get into your car, put your fob in the slot and turn the car ON (ie don't start it - but push the start button with your foot OFF the break/clutch)

Now, push and HOLD the sunroof button up (vent position). After about 15-20 seconds, the sunroof will vent. CONTINUE HOLDING THE BUTTON UP. After anouther couple of seconds, 15 or so (could feel long, but keep holding) , the sunroof will close, the open completely, then close completely.

Once the sunroof has closed completely, the proccess is over. It's important that you do not let go of that button while the proccess is happening.

Warnings might come up on i-drive or the on-board-computer. That is normal during this initialization.

good luck !

Hey,

Try this, I know it worked for me.

Put your key in the slot but dont start the car and then press and hold your sunroof button in the sunroof tilt position.

In about 20 secs the sunroof will then start to open completely and will then close again.

You must ensure that you hold the sunroof button in the tilt position through out the whole process until it is in the closed position.

I hope this helps
