Hello All,

Can anyone tell me what's the differences between the E90 LCI 320d and the normal e90 320d (before LCI) model?

The LCI engine has 135kw, thats pretty much the most significant change.

If you considering buying one the lci is by far better. Less problems, more power, better styled and will hold its value better. They are also newer as for the year of the lci.

What kind of problems are we to expect from Pre-LCI?

There was a year or two that had slight turbo problems. There was also a manuel gear box issue which was less common than the turbo but other than that all is good. Considering what LCI bmw's go for now spend they little extra for the LCI...

Thanks,

What's the difference in power as well as cosmetics?

What's the difference between the 2009 E90 320d and the 2011 E90 320d?

Umm the prelci is not less reliable than the LCI. That's bs. Google timing chain issues n47, and come back and tell me that. I would however go for a LCI for the extra power and slightly better looks.

Power - 15kw.

Looks. Different front bumper. Different kidney grills, different bonnet, different headlights, different mirrors, different talights, different bootlid, some minor changes on the interior.

2009 and 2011, If they're both facelifts, one was built in 2009 and one was built in 2011.

Hi Juan, okay so this question ha ben asked a few times so i would suggest using the search function for greater detail and tons of posts in this regard.

The quickest, short and sweet answer:

2005 mid-2008 (Pre-LCi):
110kw & 125kw engines
Packages avail. were Exclusive, Sport, M-Sport & Sport Edition Individual

late 2008 - 2012 (LCi)
130kw & 135kw engines
Packages avail. were Exclusive, Innovations, Individual, M-Sport & Dynamic (Limited)

Differences between the 2 more over:

LCi lost some standard nice to haves from Pre-LCi eg.
A second ashtray & lighter in the rear
Pop-out Cupholders in rear arm rest
Lights for vanity mirrors
Netting on front seat backrests
Nicer looking Start/stop button
LCi has the silver trims on the light button & radio rotary knobs
Better suspension and wider rear track diameter
Headlight design and functions with LEDs
Rear cluster design and LEDs
Rear-view mirror designs changed and the LCi got standard exterior mirrors and not the tinted blue ones any longer
All LCi's came out with exhaust finishings in matt silver...excluding 320d & 330d.
LCi interior had a slightly different design and stitching to the seats.

Between 2008 & 2009, a lot of pre-facelift cars would have the Lci engines in them and the Lci interior bits as well e.g. My 2008 Ind. Sport Edition had the LCi interior bits & the 320i engine with 125w instead of 115w (it had a factory standard upgraded exhaust & DP) but i found out this wasn't standard on the Lci 320i so not to sure about that.

Anything else anyone can add to the above? Im a bit tired so could be missing few things...

hope this helps bud
