E90 LCI 320d Auto Gearbox Limit

Hi guys

I'm busy planning to do some more stuff to my 320d but first need so info. I'm struggling to get any help from Google.

I want to know what's the torque limit on the 2011 320d auto box?
I'm sitting at 420nm at the wheels now, but that will probably go up after dp decat, cooler and fine tuning has been done.

Any info will be appreciated.

Guys are doing over 500Nm on these boxes. Just depends on if you got a Monday box or a Wednesday box. Personally,having to had my gearbox rebuilt, I wouldn't push past where you are now.

Yes I saw a few guys doing past 500nm that's why I thought they rated at 500nm.
But I will rather stop. Can add the dp and cooler for safety but then I need to detune it.
Think I must leave it as is. Or sell it and get a ST again. 330d is scares and I'm scared of a 335i second hand.

According to RealOEM the 320d uses a HP19z gearbox, which is basically a tuned down version of the HP26z which is used in the 330d and 335d.

There seems to be a difference on opinion in terms of how much torque the HP19 can take (between 400 and 420Nm), but if we look at the HP26 as an example....

Apparently the HP26 is rated to take 600Nm, and guys on this forum run it anywhere between 700 and 800Nm without issues.

If thats anything to go on you should be fine with 420nm, but personally I wouldn't push it beyond it, just to be safe.

Called for a deal on a Focus ST but they offered me 60k-70k less than what I paided for the car 6 months ago. Not willing to loose most of my deposit

End of the day a 320d isnt a performance car. If you're looking for a performance car you have the wrong car. Yes they can be tuned and they become quite impressive, but honestly if you're looking for more than what you have now, then you need to consider a 335 or 330d.

The 320d is already quite highly strung, so you're bound to blow a turbo or gearbox at some point - also depends on the quality of the map.

I understand that it's not a performance car. I haven't done my research proper before I signed on the 320d auto.
I don't want to add major stuff to it as I'm busy looking for a project car, but thought sw, cooler and dp would have been fine.
