Hi Gents, I have a 2009 E90 which I bought a week ago, I noticed the xenon headlights are preface, obviously it was changed at some stage by the previous owners :dunnoanymore: question is can i put on a set of LCI Xenon headlights, if so, will it a plug out / plug in case? And where can I get a set? Need a set of bulbs as well :praise:

It will probably need coding because of the led turn signals.

You may also find the wiring will need to be looked at. As the LCI xenons high beams are only the xenon shutter open. Whereas the prelci has a halogen aswell as the bixenon shutter open as a high beam. So I can't say what the previous owner did. But very doable to fit the proper lci xenons.

Where are you based?

It may be intact but he may have joined the bixenon shutter to the high beam pin. I dunno I would have it looked it when fitting.

I have a set of D1S bulbs and a set of silver indicator bulbs. If you need.

Who knows :dunnoanymore:
Used to be a requirement for Xenons, but after the new bulbs came out it is not compulsory. However, BMW always specs the two together - last time I checked.

The main reason for the requirement is that dirt can impair the optical features of the headlamp and cause glare. Incidentally, headlamps which are only slightly soiled cause a stronger glare, and of course the brighter the headlamp, the stronger the glare.

Still though not really needed. More to do with regulations

I imagine the previous owner tried to change from normal halogens to xenon and that you're running a retrofit, in which case I wouldn't change anything about it
