E90 Eating oil

Guys tell me if this is normal.

I bought my 325i 2 months ago.
The day i got the car it showed the oil warning.
BMW topped it up the next day and it was on max.

I went and checked the service history and it was servised at BMW in December. Anyway i check this morning and its just above the minimum mark.

This cant be normal right? i have only done 1000km since i got the car filled.

BMW says there is no oil leak but clearly there is a problem.

What should i do? take it to another dealer?

Forgot to mention the car has 111 000km on the clock. Motorplan till 120k

Oil consumption certainly appears to be out of line. I used to top up my wife's 323i and my 330i E90's with just one litre between oil changes.

The oil warning came on the day i brought the car home.

Another issue is what i have posted before. There is a serious lack in power. I have to let the car idle for a few minutes and switch off then start again after a few minutes then it seems to be more responsive.

I was told that i have to give time for the cats to warm up. but i doubt it cos if i had to drive it for a while it should come right without switching off and on.

How do i get over this now. To bmw if there is nothing that comes as an error on their tool then they say that there is no problem but yet the person driving the car has no say?

So its my word against theirs.

The last time it was there they said they reset the errors and the VVT learning something and it should be fine. but im not happy.

What do i do. Eish i wana sort this out before plan is gone and for some reason BMW is giving me a lazy attitude to work on my car....

Find a new dealer then

Yes i am done with Zambezi Auto even though they gave me very good service. I am going to try JHB City Auto next week.

Hope they can give me a positive result.

My Car has 93k on the clock, 320i e90. I normally Top up with 1Litre after every 3000km.. My mechanic said e90s are oil hungry, not sure how true it is... :fencelook:

Not true at all... maybe a liter between services - but not every 1000/3000 kms.

From my experiences though, the statement that e90's are oil hungry are untrue, but the statement that e90's are prone to oil leaks/issues seems to hold more ground.

I have not filled oil in mine since January and I did close onto 10500km and just had it serviced and before it went in, I checked, still full. Is that normal???

Nope - it isn't normal. It was supposed to be using oil as you can see. Best you send it in so that it can be checked out :=):

Absolutely NOT! Car should not use oil in my opinion.

Thanks bro, I am also going to insist on the leak test and the compression test.
