I considered this Mod a long time ago , Even sourced the springs from somewhere , Lost them now , I eventually reconsidered it , Considering how easy it is , and how many times the button on my remote had accidentally opened the boot without me knowing , I found it to be a little bit of a safety hazard, I cant tell you how many times I have seen Bmws , Mercs with their Automatic boot lids left open at shopping malls and the airport!
In Jhb at sandton mall , I parked next to an X6 I think it was , Boot lid open , no driver , no one in sight , In the boot , Laptop, Shopping bags and Garmin , The driver clearly did not know his boot lid was open , the other time it was one of those big Mercs , and in the rain , Felt sorry for the person , closed the boot , and guess what , Alarm goes off haha .

On my friends 4 series Grand coup , The boot speed cant be adjusted , but the height that it opens can be . It would be nice if the boot-lid could close itself if it sensed no activity in the boot. Or if you could close the boot-lid using the key remote.
Its a nice mod , I can see how it could appeal to many but I dunno , Im just to minds about it , when ever I have keys in my pocket , the key ring always tends to press against that bottom button for the boot , and it opens , Thankfully on the E46 its not really noticeable .
