E90 Aircon

Morning guys,

I seem to be having some aircon issues, I think!

How long is aircon gas supposed to last? I use my aircon pretty much everyday whether it be summer or winter. I've also had the aircon re-gassed each year for the past 2 years - does this sound right?

Last year I took the vehicle to BMW where they re-gassed and never noted any issues with the aircon. Beginning of this year (January) I just took it across to an aircon place to have it re-gassed and they too never noted any issues.

My problem that I have now is that the drivers side isn't blowing out any cold air, well nothing compared to the passengers side. Is there perhaps a filter that needs to be cleaned or could something be blocked?

Thanks,

possibly a leak in the system? you shouldn't have to regas that often.

i had the same symptoms where drivers side wasn't blowing cold, and passenger side was ice cold, had it re-gassed and it was perfect after that

I was thinking the same as I had it re-gassed not even a month ago. I just thought that one of the parties would have seen / found that there was a leak.

Take it for another regas. Ask them to see if they can find the leak, it should have a dye in. Otherwise, regar, then go back within 7-10 days so that they can look for the dye, to see where it is leaking. But considering you did it a month ago, there is a change the dye is still on the leak.

Probably going to be my best bet, take it back and let them have a look.

Thanks guys.

Definitely should not need to re-gas. I had Ben's Aircons assist me in randburg if that's in your area.
