Hi guys,

ok so looking to trade the 325 after having it for a few months (might still have it for a few months but it has to go this year but doing my homework for now)

I'm looking to get a 335i (Has to be white, sunroof, DVD player, paddle shift) and the rest I want to add is:

BMW Filter
BMW Exhaust
BMW Software

I believe they have a Power Kit 2 that you can buy. Not sure how much it is. I want a bit more performance from the car but my main issue is the sound. Previous car was a Focus ST Stage 3 and I loved that sound. Does anyone have a BMW Exhaust (or more) on their car so that I can listen to it and make a final decision on the car? I did check some clips on youtube but doesn't really give you the full effect.

I'm also looking for that nice backfiring sound when you push the car. Will it make that sound on a 335?

Also, the turbo sound. Stock you don't really hear it on any car. I like it :) So after fitting the above, will I hear it? On my Focus just I only changed the filter to a CIA and dam... That made a huge difference. Same on BMW?

Tx guys

Edit: Will it backfire with flames :D

It will definitely backfire with flames...kaboom.

I am asuming you looking at a used 335?

1. You can retrofit the powerpack & exhaust but its going to cost quite a penny.

2. Yes, the stock exhaust on the 335 makes that gurgle sound as you down shift and that backfiring sound at high rpm pitch under WOT.

good luck with the search.

You would need to change down pipes, mid section and rear with a custom exhaust to get the sound you're looking for. The BMW Performance exhaust consists of just the rear section, and yes it does sound awesome! :thumb: But is it really worth the asking price? :nono:

Yea looking for a 2010 model with no more then 50k on the clock. Sold my fiance's kia so looking to buy something for her and will mostly use that to work and back (both work at the same place) then the BMW will be saved a bit :)

I want BMW to add everything onto the car as extra's. I know it's not Ideal but at least I'm keeping my warranty and that is NB

What is the asking price? I'm thinking of around 30-40k for it. And I didn't know it's just the rear section :( That's stupid.

What other options do I actually have? Can I get Powerflow to fit an entire exhaust and when the car is due for a service just put it back to stock? Or will they find that out

Akropovic Evolotion is around R70k without down pipes. That's the only other alternative to keep the warrantee and Motorplan.

you stated that mp is NB. stick with bmw approved performance products until the mp is not that important.

for me the mp is not as important as the thrill my tuned 135i gives me. you have to decide on this and then make your decision.

you will get more performance out of the 335i with after market products.

Yes but what if my turbo goes? Then I have to pay for the repairs :)

Then you asking too much.

1. Buy the 335 and enjoy it as is.

2. The 3 mods you were considering will cost more than R30,000 including the performance pack.

I'm in North Riding. Reason I'm only looking to buy later in the year is because I want to get my settlement down a bit else they have to load the BMW just to get out of my car.

I'll be married to my car for the next 2/3 years at least. The reason for that is because my current settlement is about 210k. Best trade so far is 160k. So close to the end of the year that should look a lot better but they will still have to load the 335 a bit just to get me out of my car and then I want the extra's on the car as well.

But with BMW's good interest rates I should be paying about the same as I'm currently paying with Wesbank.

Would love to get a M3/M5 but I want at least a E90 so they are a bit over my budget.

So I'll have to settle for the 335i with some mods else I have to look at the ST again or perhaps a GTI (both doesn't have the quality of BMW but I know I can mod them within their mp)

Well not really... But I know that like if you mod your ST just take it to Porters and they don't mind :) They do ask to have certain things done at certain places like a exhaust is usually at Wildcat or Powerflow.

They don't mark the car as modded so the mp and warranty is in tact :) So that's a huge plus. If something happens to the engine you just install the stock parts and take it in to get a new engine :D

I heard the GTI guy's had the same "arrangement" with some dealers. Not sure which coz I never inquired about it

The BMW performance exhaust is well worth it IMO and the ppk I am happy with as well. The combination of the two has worked out really well, the ppk has enhanced the exhaust and engine notes as well over and above the performance

Very pricey but considering the price of brakes and BMW parts thst they do for free under motor plan...worth it I think. For instance the replacement of my brakes alone could cost by the end of the term double of what I paid for the exhaust I reckon, just an example.

So I'm assuming you have the exhaust :) Maybe your location? Would like to hear how it sounds like.
