E90 330i Water Pump Draining Battery???

Hi Guys,

So, my sister has an issue with her E90 330i, the feedback I got was that it seems that the car has 2 water pumps perhaps? If so, it seems that the one seems to keep on running. The solenoid if any is housed internally to this unit and so she has been advised to buy a complete unit which I believe costs a little fortune.

Do any of you guys perhaps have any more information regarding this and some help for her perhaps.
Oh, she is in KZN on the north coast and I'm in JHB so the best help I offered was to ask you learned guys here on this forum.

No, I guess they are suspecting the solenoid is stuffed perhaps and so energising maybe but not engaging?

The 330i only has one waterpump, and yes it is electric so it might run without the car running. When this happened to me the water pump was on its way out and needed replacement, R7K and this is from Goldwagen, BMW i had to almost suffer a kidney.

She needs to have the car diagnose to find why the waterpump is running, it might be the waterpump electronics is messed up (age) or the thermostat
