E90 330D Service History/Comments

Hi guys,

I have been looking around for a diesel for sometime now, but still nothing solid.

I came across a E90 330D 2006, the service history looks normal and the mileage looks ok for the year model. However, the accident/damage comments report I got from BMW worries me a bit, but it's probably more because I don't understand what it means.

Anyone out there can "decode" this for me and if there's anything I should worry about?

I've attached the image of the report to the post:

Thanks a lot!

You will need to find what work was actually done.

43k worth of accident damage could have been a bumper, a grill and a bonnet. which means nothing to worry about.

Or it could have been 2 doors, nothing to worry about

Or it could have been undercarriage damage, then you need to start stressing.

Phone auto atlantic, ask for a copy of the Autodex or a copy of the invoice, and send that to me, I will tell you if you should be concerned.

I agree with Leonard. 43k on a BMW really is not a huge amount when taking part prices and labor into consideration.

Did it take 2 months to repair the car and the amount increased from R46k to R51k?

I dont fully understand the report, but to me it looks like 2 accidents at R46k and R51k. With my car i phoned the dealership that did the repair and was able to get a list of what exactly was repaired and what was sprayed.

I called the dealership, but they have no record of what was done, they gave me another number to phone... and it just went ringing and ringing...

I will try again later and update once I get any info!

Phone Auto Atlantic ARC on 021 551 7569 and give them the reg number. That should enable them to pull a history.

Just some updates after chasing the rabbit down the hole...

Called Auto Atlantic Arc, who is the approved panel shop for Auto Atlantic, and they DO NOT have any repair history of the vehicle, albeit that their name is all over the comments for the repairs. Gave them all the registration numbers the car has ever had, still nothing.

Then I called the dealership in Midrand, where the car was sold, sadly the car was never serviced there, but the consultant was kind enough to direct me to BMW. After a call to BMW, it was frustrating enough to find out that they do not give out any information because it's internal only, not even to the owner of the car.

I get the feeling of chasing a ghost :thumbdo:

I'm really out of ideas on how to get to the details of the repairs apart from what's on the comments.

From the comments, there are three accident damage repairs.
1. 2009-03-25, no category given, no quoted amount, invoiced amount: R88306.
2. 2010-09-02, medium, quoted amount: R46000, invoiced amount: R47225
3. 2010-11-18, medium, quoted amount: R51145, invoiced amount: R33905

I got from the service consultant that Medium category is mostly bodywork, but could there be anything serious enough in category Medium? Also the first accident damage with R88000 invoiced... sigh.

Front fenders, a door, a bumper, bonnet...

Stuff like that is not serious.

Rear Fender, chassis damage ect, that will end in tears...
