Hi Fellow Fanatics
Firstly just want to say what a awesome forum this is...the help and guidance over the years has been remarkable!
So I decided to embark on a restoration/rejuvenation project on my 2010 E90 325i LCI.
Not that it's in a bad condition, but considering it's age I thought it's appropriate to make it good as new.
Just a break down of the history and the journey.
I bought it in September 2016 with approximately 120 000 km on the clock. The original owner looked after the car as everything was in its place and the car drove exceptionally well (since i bought the car the orginal owner calls me every year to find out if i dont want to sell it back to him including this year lol). I am the Second owner. Since owning the car outside of the regular minor and major services I have had to replace the tappet cover, solenoid ,expansion tank, top radiator hose, radiator, oil cooler and serpentine belt, rear globes... Of course with age and wear and tear brake discs and pads have been replaced when needed.
Currently the car is on 200 000 km I was considering selling it but got ridiculous offers below 70k due to depreciation etc etc from certain dealers won't mention names but to make a long story short I opted to keep the car considering it's condition and everything that it has
to offer...Keyless entry, welcome lights, navigation, paddle shift etc...
I need to attend to the below:
*Front bumper has a couple of scuff marks on the corners due to clipping steep pavements.
*Front left headlight washer was stolen..yip stolen not sure what they were thinking.
*Rear left shock is gone...in 2 minds of replacing the shocks with OEM shocks or fitting coilovers if I go with coilovers I would obviously want something that retains some comfort considering that it's my daily drive.
*Door handles are peeling...the E90 owners know what I am talking about, need to replace these.
*Rear seat, well the upper section needs to be replaced, noticed that the sun made the leather rock hard and actually split from the stitching including the head rest.
That's all from a wear and tear perspective
.
Cosmetically I would like to change the Start/Stop button as well as 1 or 2 buttons on the steering wheel to those "blue buttons" apparently its go fast buttons lol.
Would also like to fit a reverse camera into the bootlid opener so that it looks OEM( not sure if this is the correct terminology) considering that the car has the screen in the dash.
I have a set of 19" 335i 225 style rims that need to be refurbished that I want to fit....trying to keep the car OEM. Have heard that these rims are problematic in terms of cracking etc.
Also want to add a space saver wheel because I won't be doing run flats on the 225 wheels...Will be an extremely hard drive.
Playing around with the idea of fitting a OEM 335i exhaust system just for looks and hopefully it will sound better.
Would also like to fit a performance Conefilter so that the car sounds a bit more alive.
I know that the exhaust and cone filter won't do jack in terms of speed or kilowatts.
Based on the above do any of you guys have recommendations for the below:
Panel beater that can match silver for the repair on the Front bumper.
How to resolve the issue with the rims being susceptible to cracks.
Leather repair center or a place where I can get a seat that's is in a good condition.
Who can do the fitment of the 335i exhaust system.
Where can I get a space saver wheel excluding dealers.
Where I can get a good quality reverse camera and who can do the fitment and coding.
What coilovers are recommended.
Any particular Conefilter? But something that can fit in the air box so that the engine bay looks stock.
In terms of preventative maintenance what should I look out for or attend to considering age a d mileage?
Any other recommendations and suggestions are welcomed.
Will post pics as I go along.
