Hi Guys,

Can anyone shed some light here.

I have heard that some of the 325i e90s came out with the down tuned 3.0L engine. The only difference being the intake mani and software.

Which ones where these? the pre LCI or the LCI?
Reason im asking is that some of the issues i had or having is mostly 330i related when i do searches.
And i think doing software will be very beneficial

325i EUR, CA 2005–2007 2.5L I6 218 PS (160 kW; 215 bhp) 250 N·m (184 lb·ft)
325i US, EUR 2006+ 3.0L I6 218 PS (160 kW; 215 bhp) 270 N·m (199 lb·ft) 6.7 s
Got this info from:

That is probably why the 125 sounds so much better than the 325.

Funny thing when my car was at BMW they told me it was the 3.0L engine but those guys cant be trusted most of the time

I did check on realoem it says E90 325i Saloon N52 Europe
But nothing else

And you get a N52B25 and N52B30.

according to Wikipedia The N52B30 was only available in the US market on the 325 as a 190kw version

Check the engine number on RealOEM, it should be one of the N52B25 engines - as already said, it's only the 125i sold locally that used the N52B30 3.0i engine that was detuned. Yep, don't trust what the guy at the agents says, I remember when we went to the F30 launch the salesman said that the new 4 cylinder turbo engines replace the old V6's... :flyfun:

Like the new 328i is actually a 2.0T engine that does nearly 200kw. So why mislead? 328 is an iconic number in BMW terms.

So I agree on the badging.

Yep, heard that too, and even worse, most general 1 Series owners still believe that their cars are FWD!!! :nonono:
