E90 320d Testdrive

Hey Guys, so me and my dad finally got to testdrive an E90 320d after almost nagging him for 3 years to come with me hehe.

All I can say is wow:inlove:!!!
Driving a 1.4 Corsa Utility and getting into the E90, well to be honest it felt like home again:cry:
The sophisticated interior, the quality, and best of all that refined diesel engine , its simply perfect to me.

I had never driven a diesel BMW before and was very impressed with the smooth power delivery on the auto.

Unfortunately mom was retrenched about two years ago and was unemployed for about a year. This caused us to only afford parts of all of the financial obligations as she took part time work to make ends meet. Luckily she has been back in the labour force full time since March. But this affected both mom and dads credit so even though I can afford the Beemer with what I have left of my salary, we still cannot get finance:argh::bangdesk::cry::yuck:
I know it wasnt her fault, and I have all the love and respect for her and dad for doing what she does to provide for us.

Hopefully in a years time the banks will like us a bit more and be willing to help us out. This would make a good commuter for me as my Gautrain fare is R2800 per month now and last month I drove to PTA and back everyday and my fuel was about R3900.

Not to mention that e-toll pain in my p#$phol!

Much wiser choice of car than the OPC. Have you only tried one company for finance? Are there not companies that help people with bad credit get finance?

Hey Dieselfan, we only tried with wesbank and mfc as we have existing loans with them. There are credit providere who will help people with a bad history but they demand a big deposit be paid in cash upfront for the car and the interest rate that they charge makes the payment unaffordable for me.

The thing is that I only end up with about R5000 after expenses on my salary each month. Luckily mom and dad still cover my fuel and insurance for me but its mostly to keep me around because I really help out a lot around the house. For eg I painted the whole exterior of our house by myself including gutters, facia boards, windows frames and walls. Stuff like that isnt really my dads thing and he works full time so stuff like this always fall on me to do. Which I dont have a problem but a lot of things have come like this and because of it I basically never go out in the week or even on weekends.

P.S. To ne honest the OPC i think is too fast of a car foe me at this stage. And secondly, I am worried about the parts spend on that car as its not something that a previous owner would have driven gently. That turbo is just too addictive. But for practical reasons and stuff lile the cost of 16 vs 18 inch tyres. The E90 is a much more sensible option for me.

What I would suggest is putting whatever money away that you can into an interest bearing account. In a year or two buy the car you want cash. No debt.
