Dear fanatics. E90 320d lci (2011) wont open via remote and wont show any signs of power at all. I opened it manually and tried to insert remote but nothing happens. It does this intermittently and has been doing it for some months now. At first I thought the remote battery needed to be changed but I did that and also the spare key does not work. Car battery is also in good condition. What could be wrong with this car? Now I cant even switch it off when at the filling station so it is really bad since I can't trust the car will start. Car is stock and fully serviced by the dealer. Thanks

Fanatics, I did a bit of reading on this issue. Could this be related to the recall? On the bmw website it says the car is part of the technical campaign? Thanks

It sounds like a faulty module to me, have you had diagnostics done?
Not yet Nikhil. We called the agents and they said we must take the car there when it has the problem. Meaning we should tow it when it doesn't start. Doesn't make sense to me because ideally it should store the codes.
Thanks

Hmmm just get the codes read anyway and if your car is out of warranty/ motorplan so please stop using BMW

Why not take it to the dealer for them sort it out the outstanding campaign(s) anyway and insist they look at the issue (and even read the codes) while it's there? Maybe your issue is related to the recall indeed.

Thanks Nikhil, will get the codes read. It is my sister's car and she believes in using the agents. I will talk her out of it though.

Hi Bandie that is what I advised my sister to do. I hope it will sort out the issue and the car should store the codes too. Thanks

The recall might be for the blower motor. It was on most/all E90's.

When the car is dead, is there power at the jumper terminal in the engine bay?
Are all the connections on the battery secure?

I thought the recall also had to do with power issues? I haven't checked yet. When it does it again I will check. Battery connections are secure. This happens once you lock the car. Thanks
