e90 320d help ( Long to Accelerate )

hi guys i am having an issue with my 320d 2008 n47

recently purchased the car and it drove fine for a while but now it doesnt have power.

it takes for ever to accelerate and when the power comes it suddenly rushes in.

i had the fault code read it produced the following which i replaced.

MAF : cost 6900 , replaced
Fuel Filter Heater : costs 2800 managed to get it slightly cheaper and replaced

but the problem stays there. turbo seems fine and the problem seems to start only after 30min of driving ( mostly in traffic ). if i unplug the MAF ( even the new one ) the car is normal again.

any one experience the same problem or can advise. i read EGR valve / pressure convertors could be the cause but im already close to 10k in the whole :blueCry: and wanna make sure before i give out more bux ( i know this sounds silly ):smashScreen:

please let me know:ty:

Sounds like heat soak. Check your intercooler. Give it a good clean inside and out. While you are at it check your boost pipes. Clean out ant sensors you have on the boost pipes. I cant confirm if there are any. When you have the cold side boost pipe off check the egr. If it's filthy remove and clean.

removale and cleaning of EGR seems to have done the trick.

Glad you got it sorted. Have you cleaned out the intercooler and checked for boost leaks everywhere?

well cleaning the egr didnt help problem came back. eventually sent the car to Diesal tech who fixed the problem which was the turbo sensor ( R3500 ) . all is well in diesal land again.

hi guys,

hope you dont mind hitching a ride on your thread.

i have a similar prob.
E90 320d 2009 - auto

flat spot usually starts up ater about 10kms of driving. if i floor it from the get go its ok but if im at a low spped or slow down to like 40km/h and try to floor its the revs will crawl from 2500 to 3500 and then it would kick in and performs normal from beyond that point.

turbo serviced, MAF sensor replaced, intake manifold replaced, have a buddies EGR valve and he now has mine (his car is still normal), tested my bros MAP in mine the other and the prob was still there.

my orignal MAP that has been cleaned is in again... if i unplug the MAP then there are no flat spots ... not sure if there is a slight reduction in performace, could be my immagination. idles normal, picks normal i think, fuel consumption looks ok. (was never great to begin with - +-550km on a tank)

not sure if it could be the MAP seeinbg that its fine when unplugged (however i just popped my bros 1 in and the prob was still there) should i perhaps leave the MAP in for the day to trest or should it be fixing the issue immediately on insertian?

pls help.

regards
S
