I had to replace a bulb on my e90 as well...very easy, if it's the right hand headlamp turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, this will give you access to a little cover sitting behind the headlamp housing, use a broad flat nose screw driver to turn the two plastic locking plates roughly 90 degrees so that they are flush with the aligning wheel cover. the small plastic plate will probably fall off when doing this to the second locking plate. you will now have access to the various light bulbs. refitting is the reversal of what I said.
