Hi Guys

need some advise about cat removal.
my beloved tractor currently has 104k on the clock
I heard from some dudes on the forum that 100k
is ok to remove the cats.

I am hoping to get improved performance and economy.
would this conversion help. I am in cape Town, anybody able to recommend a fitment centre where they had theirs removed and the cost of the job?

Also, would a software upgrade help?
How would I check what version is currently installed and
which version is the latest.

Sorry.... only saw your post now!

Yeah.... a de-DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter which is a Diesel's CAT) as well as EGR_OFF (Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve switch off in software) will definitive improve your performance and fuel consumption.

This can be combined with our Sporty / Econo Mix Software

Results can be seen on various examples here on the forum (ask member Dippies if you need more info)

Hi buddy

Yep now would be good time to get that CAT removed :=):

Sadly if you just remove the CAT and don't have the car remapped, your fuel consumption will increase instead of decrease

Removing the CAT and fitting a down pipe combined with having the software upgraded will reduce the fuel consumption, however if you utilize the extra power your car will use more fuel :=):

Hey Promotec

are you guys able to do the remap job in Cape Town?
what will I be looking at pricewise?
any recommendations on who can do the DPF removal and DP fitment
and what it would cost?

Apologies for the hijack! I've just the CAT removed on my 320d, how much difference did the remap do and how much did it cost?

Also in CT :)

Thanks for the quick feedback :)!

I phoned Combined Electronics on was told it would cost between R2800 and R3400, does that sound competitive?

Promotec could you help a brother out with regards to a quote :)?

A bit of info. This is based on my E46 330d

De cat : not much of a power increase and very slightly better fuel consumption. However it will save the life of your turbo. Ooh and you get a nice whistle sound

Egr delete: slightly better fuel consumption no performance increase what so ever. But doing this will increase the life of your engine.

My 330d consumption went down to like 6litres / 100kms I would struggle to get 7 normally. So I dont think that is right.

1km on the odo would be ideal to have them removed :p

Dont think about it just do it. You wont regret it.
