As the topic states, anyone know if it can be related? The car just had a big service and now it has this intermittent vibration. Its worse when in 2nd gear you accelerate and then vibrate when decelerate in gear.

Anyone have an idea if it can be the transfer case? And why only now?

Unrelated, crankseal that leaks oil, how much work and how tricky a job is this? Any info or experience? Bearing in mind we are far from the nearest BMW dealer.

was the adaptations set after the oil change?

Hehe momo, you read to quick.
my father had nothing done to the gearbox, also, he has a manual.

but I did do some more googling, seems like it comes back to tyre diameter, and after mentioning it to him he did remember there being a slow puncture on the one tyre. Lets hope its that simple....

Tyre size and pressure is critical especially on the X3. With tyrs size i mean same circumference tyres and same pressure all round or else you will have problems with the gearbox/transfer case and diffs.
