E65 Turbo Issue

Hi All,

My 730d is behaving wierdly.

When you start the car cold, turbo is as strong as hell, and stays strong as long as the motor is running, 2km, 200km does not matter.

When you turn the car off, and right back on, the turbo is still fine. When the car has been sitting for about an hour, there is no boost, up front 80km up there is a bit of boost, but no real pressure.

No grinding, no oil usage, no errors.

But the next morning its just fine, going to book it in next week, I am suspecting MAF ?

Will do, just motivation to get my butt in gear and get the E34 running :)

AND, the pricing for the walk in closets are in, half of what I budgeted for, so we are good to go :)

Its amazing how long we wait for an appointment at BMW in Gauteng! The last time I took my car to BMW (and I mean LAST TIME), I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment. I told them that the car was overheating badly and I needed some help. They told me they would try and squeeze me in. Basically, it took 2 1/2 weeks instead of 3 :hammerhead:

So I booked her in this morning.

Here was the list of complaints

1. Turbo not boosting after restart when car is hot

2. "Clunk" on the steering just before full right lock

3. Bluetooth phone not pairing

4. Drivers side aircon fan control knob "grinding" and not clicking

5. Button for the phone tray is discolouring

6. Clips on armrest in the rear seat is broken

We shall see how long this takes

Almost a week and a half later, but new turbo approved.

Frikken idiots, I'll tell you guys the story on Sunday, as there is way too much to type, but I gave the service dude a severe tounge lashing and I will be picking up my courtesy car tomorrow, and they had better not give me a 118 or something.

Oh, and they replaced two glowplugs, nice of them dont you think

So she is back. sporting a new turbo and a 15k bill to the motor plan.

Will need to drive her a bit more before I am satisfied, but she seems ok.

Well with putting the KM's on the E34 instead, I can keep her in motor plan for another year to two.

But she is going in next year again for a new sunroof cause its leaking air, a new cd shuttle cause the flap is not working properly, and a new aircon control unit.

Going to see if I can get some control arm bushings out the deal as well, that extra motor plan that I bought was an investment I tell you :)
