What could be there issue?

WHITE SMOKE occurs when raw diesel comes through the exhaust completely intact and unburned. Some causes of this include

Faulty or damaged injectors

Low cylinder compression (eg caused by leaking or broken valves, piston ring sticking, cylinder and/or ring wear, or cylinder glaze)
When white smoke occurs at cold start, and then disappears as the engine warms up, the most common causes are fouling deposits around piston rings and/or cylinder glazing.

Either what Peter said, or perhaps blown turbo.

+1 sounds like a blown turbo to me, My 1.9TDI had a catastrophic turbo failure where the rotors(not sure if thats the right name) shattered and were bouncing around everywhere and my car had oil leaking out the exhaust and alot of white smoke

Question: Has your car been in to Decat yet?

Oh noo! That sounds like a big headache. The sad thing is that the was taken to a mechanic in Ennerdale who claimed he replaced the piston, turbo, injectors and computer box. Now everything single thing that he claimed he fixed has been giving me problems.

cant you take the car back to the mech bud? if he is a proper mech he should offer a warranty on his products and work or something along those lines
