Theoretical, what would the outcome be on top end between a delimited E60 M5 and a stock Yamaha R1 2006 model?

R1 will top at around 300kmh, well about 315-320 but speedometers stops at 300 but revs keep going. Red line on standard sprockets will get you about 315kmh

Indicated speed I check its limited to 180 mph, would like to know what's the real true top speed. On the net it seems true top speed well below 300.

Well my gsxr1000 had a run agaisnt a r1, tapped out at 299 on speedometers...
That is, obviously was on a racetrack and not on a public road ....haha

Lol, of course all on private strips. My Gsx1400 is a slow coach compared to those bikes.

Would be interesting, but the venue will be in the Western Cape. There has been one outcome between a gsxr and the M5, but its inconclusive as the gsxr owner chickened out after about 265, by that time the beemer was already ahead :)

I rate acceleration gsxr ahead. Top end def will be a m5. Unless u sprocket R1 for top end, but 300+ on a bike is serious business.

E60 M5 top end ? I dont think it will clock 300 on a gps . The gixer should clock 285-290 on a gps at the coast , some reach 300 inland due to thinner air .
Both standard then gixer will take it , it big enough gonads used !!
I have done 230 or so in a e30 325i years ago and been passed by a few bikes .....bliksems het gevlieg ....:thumbs:

Go do some research, they clock almost 330 when delimited. Non restricted ones in Europe and the states good for at least 205 mph or just a tad under 330.

M5 without limiter will eat the R1, you tube M6 vs R1, its the same V10 motor and the M6 took it in the end, takes a while though
