E60 530D Problem?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 2005 bmw 530d e60 auto. The car has quite a lot on the clock (197k) but going for a good price with fsh and no problems or sounds. I drive about 3000km per month, so my question is how is the reliability of this car? And service wise what can I expect (bill wise)? And I have read up on the swirl flaps, has any one had any specific problems on that? This is quite a new field as I'm driving a 2007 Audi A3 2.0 fsi ambition and this car gave me loads of problems (valve lifters need replacement). The bmw is a sweet drive and I must say by just driving it already convinced me to buy it. Please any advice would be good.

Bought in 2007 at 175000km's
Now on 230000kms
problems so far
1)new battery
2)New cam angle sensor
3)new EGR thermostat
4)new tyres
5)new brakes and discs skimmed

by far the most reliable car I have ever ever owned

Have had the airbag warnings discribed above, and can confirm its the electrical connector under the seat that causes power interuptions

If it is a manual, just sommer take it! it is easy enough to sort out the rest of the problems. (although airbags can get expensive - >R4k a pop, and for example to take out the driver side curtain airbag requires removal of the dashboard and headliner - so quite a lot of labour as well)

I say go get the car today, drive it to Leonard, check the faults and if it will cost less than 10k to sort out the car, take it (and negotiate for a lower price).
