e46 Timing Chain

Hi

Just wondering...when would be a good time to change the timing chain on a E46 320i, the car now has 177000km. Im sure at some point the chain and sprockets need to be changed?

From my knowledge, these are not regular maintenance items (unlike cambelts).

I'm currently on 429k km's on my E46 325i and haven't touch my timing chain... still going strong.
