E46 R/H Door Lock Actuator Assembly

Thought I'd ask for help here, is this unit repairable or is it a case of driving over it with both wheels while screaming in frustration at the top of one's voice about the "progress" the engineers have made with the serviceability of parts? :smashScreen:

Hey bud.

Unfortunately those aren't serviceable and have now become super scarce second hand. Your best bet is to sit on the case of your local locksmith.

There's a little ring assembly in these that break. They're meant to be fragile'ish in order to prevent someone sticking a screwdriver in there and forcing the lock. But as with many E46's, the remote central locking function does fail after a while and many people end up unlocking their cars manually. Clearly the BMW engineers didn't anticipate this happening rollsmile so the mechanism isn't strong enough for constant use.
