I think my heart just skipped a beat. Matt Fara has just lost all respect here. His last few reviews have been questionable, but really comparing the e46 m3 to a fiesta ST... next he'll be comparing a Lambo Gallardo to a Prius...

At the risk of getting tarred and feathered here, I'm gonna say I agree with him. But - you have to put it into context.
If you only had that amount of money and you needed ONE car, then getting the Fiesta would probably be a wiser choice, (newer, 4 doors etc.), so when he says the M3 would probably be more expensive to run and a better weekend car then he is probably right.
If you start questioning why a Fiesta is being compared to a M3 on a performance basis, then yes, things start to fall apart.

only down side to the M3 is it will cost more to keep on the road... but as said in the vid the M3 is a better long term car to own
if you compare based on performance only the 1.6l lunch box comes up very short
