E46 m3 tire pressure sensor

Hi guys.

I just changed the rear tires and the tire pressure sensor keeps going off as if the tires are flat.

I have held it down a few seconds to reset it but after about 2 mins it's back.

Anyone know what I can do?

Hi there. I assume the left and right tyres are the same brand and size?

Maybe one of the sensors in the rim got damaged?

Sorry I was thinking of the aftermarket system, the OEM system uses the wheel speed sensors to determine a difference in wheel speed. A flat tyre would rotate faster than a properly inflated one.

I'd check the wheel speed sensors and clean them first.

I had the same problem , checking pressures with my own gauge and that of the filling stations , it would still come on , then I had my fault codes cleared when I changed lambda sensors and noticed the problem was gone , when I mentioned it to my friend who does the work on my car , he said he had reset it , don't ask me how.

E46 uses the ABS sensors to tell if a flat occurs. In your case there is a mismatch in roll-out diameter between front and rear causing the light to come on. Check and make sure the tyre sizes are correct with the tyre info sticker in the driver's door jam.
