E46 Business tape radio volume control repair

Hi Guys,

My volume control started acting up and I thought it was because the nut holding it to the faceplate was a little loose.

I over tightened the bolt and broke the threaded nut that is attached to the pc board where the volume controlling takes place. I tried to glue it but that didn't work, so now I need a new one.

Does anyone know where I could get the volume control pictured below?

you will probably have to get a whole tape unit... they should not be too expensive second hand because every want to change it to CD

Thanks for the replies.

This is what I eventually went with: R400 for a similar / second hand radio from BEMOW in PTA. R 25 for a Torx screw driver and R25 for a Philips / Star screw driver, both from Builders express in Riverclub, Sandton.

Note. The BMW Business radio / tape players aren't all the same. When I got the Bemow one into the dash, I realised it didn't come with a signal booster although it had an extra few functions on the front / screen. I landed up having to take both radio's apart and swap the Bemow's volume control with the old radio's, since the old radio did have the booster and the difference was remarkable.

Once the new volume control was in, the old radio it worked beautifully. I had replaced the rubber knob a little while ago, so it looked brand new too!
