Hi all, can anyone confirm whether the angel eyes for E46 sedan are compatible with the electronic adjustment on the E46 f/lift and can one use an hid bulb without burning the light covers. 2ndly, my car (bmw 320i 2.2 MY 2002 f/lift) has a humming sound at around 60 km/h and again at 120 km/h. Its not the bearings I am told and its more audile at inclines / hills in fourth gear. I have 17inch 330i rims with 245/17/40 continental tyre at the rear. Please advise.

Could just be the harmonics of the tyres on the road at certain RPM's :mmm:

HID bulbs would have to go hand in hand with the ballasts, the light needs to be focused though, and will more than likely blind oncoming drivers if you dont have projectors.

If you are talking about the wiring harness for the angel eyes that allows them to fade on and off with the locking of the car, that can be made up quite easily with a 5 pin 24V automotive relay.

My car has standard halogen lights, would the optional hid lights fit on my vehicle?

Hey Guys,

Realize this post is a little old but heres my 5c anyway.

I actually fitted a set of HID to my e46 with std Halogens last week.
Theres now some serious light being put out. Connecting them takes 2 mins a side.....BUT
Fixing the bulbs in place takes significantly longer as it doesnt screw in or clip in etc like it does for an e36...
Eventually just siliconed the globe backing in place and used a hair dryer to get it to set faster while I held it in place.

Its not any brighter than standerd Xenon lights for other drivers and focused them up against a wall before using the silicone.
Id say do it and if you need a hand feel free to give me a shout.

Regards
TBB..
