My E46 Facelift alarm sensor under the mirror isn't working. Firstly it was working fine but about 2 years ago the light switch burnt. When it burnt it affected the hazard, indicators, alarm and the headlights stayed on always. When putting on or off on the switch it didn't make any use, the headlights were constantly on. I went to the crap yard to look for a 2nd hand one. I find it and put it in. The lights got back to normal, everything went well but the controls at the back for windows didn't work and also the sensor didn't come back. Since then my rear window controls are not working and the sensor is not as well. The rear window only opens/closes when I use the front controls.
What might have caused the sensor and the rear window controls not to respond?
Some say it might be the GM5 that is faulty and others say the car needs reprogramming. I don't know which is correct.
