Hi guys,

It's been a while since I posted, I've been reading though! So as the title suggests I'm looking for someone in Pretoria who is knowledgeable about E46 A/C systems. I'm hoping it just needs a service and regas but I want someone who knows what they are doing to take a look.
Thank you.

what is wrong with the ac? I would just first take it to a place to check it to see if it just needs gas or if there is something more at fault.

I know beat boys on the corner of Fred Nicholson and Steve Biko has one of those machines that recycles the gas and refills it.

If there is a problem with the compressor I know of a guy in sinoville that can help you with that, prices are way better then dealers etc. but I got his contact details from the owner of beat boys as well so they should refer you their if needed.

Thanks for the recommendations, turns out she was just very low on gas, 90 grams and there should be a minimum 680 grams. I actually found a guy close to me who had the right equipment. HVK mini works. Sorted me out quick, the machine is automated and also adds the dye.
Thanks again.

Just have it checked for leaks, most likely something as simple as a o-ring that is perished. AC should not run out of gas for no reason. Now that the dye is in there should be quite easy to find it though.

E46 cars sometimes have a small leak in the a/c evaporator.

It is cheaper to top up the gas every now and then than the strip the entre dashboard and hvac unit to replace the evaporator.

Thanks, according to the machine they plugged in the system has no leaks but it is only a 2 minute pressure test. As said it may be a small leak. Something I'll just have to live with for now.
Thanks again guys.
