E46 330i Fuel pump failure

So, today, out of the blue, clock just went over the 300 000km mark, fuel pump gave up the ghost.....no warning nothing, stopped to collect something, car would not start when I needed to leave...luckily it failed at my wife's place of work, quick phone call to Goldwagen Alberton, they had a pump in stock, just under R2.5k, BMW's price, over R6k......for the same VDO pump....so, I zoot off to Goldwagen, buy this new pump, back to my car, fit it quickly, the 330i breathes again......
