Hi Guys

Need some info please. Since temp has dropped (talking about -1-2 and 0 degrees) in my area all of a sudden my baby struggles to start. When i crank it turns fine but doesnt start. Then when i crank again it struggles and then asif battery is also dead it starts. When temp is normal around 7 upwards there is no issues. How would you know if its the glow plugs or the module? Had a code read about a year ago and have error on all 6 glow plugs had the battery changed and was sorted. Checked the charging on the onboard option 19 then 9 and its charging fine. 12.5v when off. 14.2v when idling 14v when lights are on so i dont think its the battery. :fencelook:

Hey bud. You can check the glow plugs by removing them and applying 12V directly to each glow plug. If the tip gets hot its working. I know the glow plug module is a common problem on the M57.

Fuel Pump Relay, green one below the glove box.... Even with our low temps and assumed glow plug failures, our engines will start. Fuel Pump Relay.

This sounds like its either crank or cam position sensor. Fyi glow plugs do nothing for us unless it's like like -10 degrees.

When its warm, issue goes away = faulty relay. Had exact same behaviour in my M57N 330d. I swapped the horn relay for the fuel pump relay as they are the same(green) = problem fixed.
