E46 325I whine when A/C is running

Hi everyone

I have a 2002 e46 325I. It seems that when my a/c is switched on, the aircon whines from inside the cabin. And if you rev the car, the whine seems to climb and get louder. I found a video on youtube which is exactly what I am experiencing. The guy in the video says 10grams of compressor oil is needed. Please have a listen to the video and let me know if any of you know of this issue.. and also where in Cape Town I can go to have this sorted out.

Think your compressor is on the way out. Probably get it serviced.

My e46 330i did the same, was quite noisy in fact.

Took it to have the aircon serviced, and it is probably about 70% quieter.

I do see a repair in my future though.

I took mine to the guys at Car Audio Warehouse in Durbanroad, Bellville, just below Barons VW.

BMW changed my AC pump, said it was the bearings

Would drive me nuts, I would get it to a AC service place to check but I think even just adding oil might just prolong it a bit before you will have to replace it.

Just to confirm, when you say serviced, you not referring to the normal re gassing when they extract old gas and refill right?
