e46 320i ignition coil woes

Hi all
my coil packed up on sunday. does anybody know where i could get a coil aside from the stealers. hoping for a bit of a better price than the R800 i just got quoted. i'm in the east rand boksburg benoni area... please help.

I had one fail recently too, they replaced all six..

R4800 total, and it's as smooth as butter since then, fortunately I still had a warranty from the dealer that I bought the car from, so it was all covered by them.

But yeah, I can imagine that out of your own pocket that is a little exhorbitent..

Same year, same model on mine too, so I guess it's something that goes with age.

I replaced 4 coils over the weekend for my N42. Cost was 350 each from Bemows. Brand new Bosch... Same thing..

got the m54 motor. with the individual pencil type coil

R350 from Bemows is what I paid.

Although i replaced mine at the stealers @ R480 a pop i think, i didnt know what was wrong with the car i was desperate LOL

also get quotes from different dealers as i find their prices on the same parts vary considerably, try Auto Alpina in boksburg also Alberante BMW in alberton they have the best prices on OEM parts

managed to find a better price R450. which is acceptable but it's a bosch my original is a bremi can this cause a problem.

Dude, if you have the time, just go buy it from Bemows at R350.

Interesting, though, I got a price for 660 from BMW the glen on saturday.

Note howevert that BMW was FAR cheaper on service spares than any of my parts guys....

thanks dude. unfortunatly i've only got a loan car for today. but i have been meaning to visit bemows for some time i believe it's in pretoria...
