E46 318i f/l : hesitant pick-up below 2000rpm?

Help!? My e46 318i seems hesitant to pick-up revs below 2000rpm.
She is a high miler, 262k km. Been for service at BMW dealer. I changed plugs, did the de-cat thing, but still the flat spot. It is almost like an older carburettor car would do when cleaning and tuning required, stutters at first and then picks up! Fuel consumption on open road is execellent (13,5 to 14,5km/l @ 130). Town use not so great, between 9-10km/l. No oil use at all. Motor quiet. Exhaust exceptionally clean, no black soot. I always used Castrol, but recently changed to Shell.

What can be the problem!?

What you mean "scan car for codes"?

If crank sensor, then why not the same problem right through the rev range?

Why is the sky blue?

My Ti had the same issue, had the crank sensor done and it was fine.
Other issue could be the valvetronic motor, but yea have the codes read and go from there.
