Before I start, let me first say that I think most members are going to give me grief on this purchase for 2 reasons as its a 318i N42 and its AUTO.
That being said, I am really enjoying this car. Most of you may know that in December I sold my E39 540i, to get something lighter on fuel as a daily runner, we were essentially looking for a touring but in December nothing good was available. So I got my hands on a clean E46 318, after a 5 days of owning this car, the touring became available at the price I wanted to pay (made offers to the guy in December, he didnt accept - came January and I think his wallet decided to let me have it). So being the BMW whore that I am I sold the E46 quickly at R2000 profit and got this touring, now its not perfect by any means but its versatility is impressive. We did splash out on this one at R78000 - many may think that its alot but after the lot I have seen in my search, this came out tops.
2002 BMW 318i (Steptronic) Touring, 140000km, FSH (100000km @ BMW, others done at Fastserv PTA), Alpine White with Montana Black Leather, Full House, MFS, Smash and Grab, 1 year warranty with Motor Mend (Innovation Group),
Cons: Needs tyres & brakes, oil leak at the filter housing, cat scratches on the drivers door, humming noise only 95km/h - after I change the tyres and the noise is still there I can then assume wheel bearings?...and thats about it.
Using it as my daily commute from Lynnwood to Centurion and it feels good, consumption currently on 9.8l/100km, I have done 300km and the tank is still between 1/2 and 3/4..
