E39 - Window mechanism

Hi Guys

Anyone know where i can get a new window mechanism for a E39. The drivers door window had fallen in and when i opened to have a look, the whit plastic clips that hold the window mechanism on the rail had broken.

I'm guessing i either need those plastic clips, or the entire mechanism.

Anyone know where i can get them from apart from BMW?

you can fix the clips with Cable ties :thumbs:

Just do a google search , if it's just the clips, I would suggest fixing them with the ties, however, if you need the whole mechanism , there are a few places :

prefacelift or facelift? in other words before 2000 or after 2000 ?

the window mechs changed mid 2000

Sorry, mine is the face lift, 2003.

The part that broke on mine is this one: (white plastic clip holding the part that clamps the window to the rail)

I have spares from my last mechanism that decided to call it quits. I can have a look tonight for the part if you wish, not sure if it will work though as mine is pre-facelift (2000)

Its just those white clips on the window clamps.

And the dealers probably want you to buy the entire window mechanism, if not a new car :thumbdo:
