E39 Throttle tap off issue

Hi guys

My new baby is behaving badly (97’ 528). She all of a sudden started revving herself. When you start her up the revs go to about 1700 and then drop slowly. This occurs whether the car is hot or cold.

Also while driving when you let the gas out the revs only drop after a second or so. If you step on clutch and let the accelerator out at the same time she actually picks up for a second or so.

Please help

maybe the throttle position sensor?

Thanks, that was one of the things I thought of but seeing as the car has a UniChip in it the variables become so wide that it looks like the only thing to do is to take her back to SAC in Boksburg and hove them diagnose.
