E39 sunroof

Howsit all,

This morning the sunroof on the car locked in the open position. When I tried to do a reset, there was a noise that sounded like slipping gears and now the glass is recessed, and when you try to close it, the glass appears to shift forward a few mm and then back a few mm.

What or where can I look at in order to get this fixed?
