E39 M5 Replacement battery needed

Hi, as the subject states I'm in need of a replacement battery for my M5. Has anyone recently done a replacement and approximately how much did you pay?

Hi Bossie. I recently replaced the battery on my 540, which is the same battery as the M5 takes, a 658. Phoned and shopped around a bit before settling for a AtlasBX from Tiger Wheel and Tyre, for R1356. Comes with 2 year warranty. Battery Centre was rediculous with their prices... At face value it looks to be a very well made product.

Batter Centre sells the OEM battery.

If you are after the OEM battery, do yourself a favour and call BMW and compare prices. I found that the prices at Battery Centre was about the same as the dealer, so you may as well get the BMW branded battery, so it's all original like....'n all...

I also found that OEM price was close enough to after market price, so opted for the OEM instead.
